This seminar will provide a grounded and informational introduction to Structural Equation Modeling (SEM), explained through the usage of path analysis, direct and indirect effects, bootstrapping, and latent variables. Different approaches to longitudinal data analysis using SEM will also be covered (cross-lagged panel models, fixed and random effects models, and latent growth curve models). Examples will highlight the appropriate application of SEM, as well as the advantages and disadvantages of this approach.
