Dr. Manickam received her Ph.D. from The Ohio State University and has a broad background in immunology with specific training and expertise in cellular immune responses in viral infections. She has extensive experience characterizing innate immune cells, including NK cells and granulocytes, using flow cytometry and other immunologic assays in humans and non-human primate models. In addition, Dr. Manickam has developed immunoassays to investigate cytotoxic and phagocytic functions of innate immune cells against SIV, HIV, and SARS-CoV-2 in collaboration with other academic labs and industries.
